Licking Valley High School is a public high school in Hanover, Ohio that is overseen by district superintendent David Hile. It is the only high school in the Licking Valley Local School District. Its principal is Wes Weaver, vice principal is Shane Adkins, and the athletic director is Mark McCullough. The current high school building was opened in 2000, and the old one became the current middle school. The new elementary school was built in 2007. The school offers college prep courses, Advanced Placement courses, and even has specialized classes for juniors and seniors to help guide them to the next step, one of which is titled "Journey to College". Currently, the only foreign language course offered is Spanish. Licking Valley's football team is known for its success.
The athletic department has been very successful in most sports in the past and is currently earning achievements. Recently a golf team was added to the athletic department. Academics has always been a very important part of Licking Valley. All academic departments work hard to achieve greatness for their students.
The music department includes a marching band, concert band, jazz band, concert choir, and show choir. The band director is Sean Bradley and the choir director is Jessica Myers. In 2011, the marching band received a superior rating at Newark and New Philadelphia competitions and went to state. They received a two at state competition in Dayton, Ohio.
Licking Valley High School also includes a drama club, the gamerz club, Encounter which is a bible study club, a Renaissance club, a Student Council, National Honors Society, H.O.P.E, SADD, and a quiz team.
